MATERIALS: — true and false statements about Ireland:

— factfiles of Ireland.

ACTIVITY 1

FEEDBACK ON THE PREVIOUS LESSONS. DISCUSSION. The teacher stimulates the discussion by asking questions :

What have you learnt about Ireland? What events was its history rich on? What is your impression of the Irish?

ACTIVITY 2

GROUP WORK. The students decide whether the statements they read are true or

false.

ACTIVITY 3

READING. The students read the factfile concerning some facts and realia of Irish

life(St.Patrick’s Day, Guinness beer, Rabat Irish House in Moscow).

ACTIVITY 4

SPEAKING. The students express their opinion on John Kennedy’s quotation «I was born in America, my grandparents were born here and still my son is called Irish». HOMETASK. The students make a «Mini-Guide to Ireland» and to write essays «WHO AM I»
