Indian summer. The harvest time. The busiest time for everyone. The grain is already stored in stacks or ricks and thatched safe from rain.
Apple-trees curve over the land with juicy and fresh apples. Slight wind makes the leaves tremble and move slowly. The snowstorm of starlings and rooks follows the plough. The air smells of ripening fruits.
Last berries button up the dew and spiders are looking forward to getting their victims.
The whispering sounds of the grass make you relax. The beauty of the fall fills you with joy and consolation…
Planting remains my hobby. My family enjoys watering or weeding, loosening or sowing and that’s why our garden looks lovely in summer when the trees pipe their roulades in tender green; it is productive in autumn. Though some crops have been a chief disappointment this year, the labour itself gives us pleasure. To plant a good crop needs great passion, love and care.
